BART sends good wishes to Felix Burns who celebrated his 100th birthday with friends and family earlier this month.  He was the 4th child of Felix and Ellen Burns, born on 1st May, 1919.  For all you history enthusiasts, Felix was born before the before the signing of the Treaty of Versailles, the most important of the peace treaties that brought World War I to an end.  While living in rural Ballykinlar he remembers the soldiers passing by his home on their way to Ballykinlar Army base.  Felix has lived and farmed in Co Down of all of his long life. He has had both hips replaced, the last one in 2001 and still remains mobile with the help of his rollator.  He has always been cheerful and hard-working and his family say he is a great inspiration to all who know him.

Thank you to all who participated in this year's Bart Walk, which was held on the 9th June 2019. Check out the pictures from the BART Walk. Please note gallery thumbnails are cropped, please click to view full image.

The Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon official awards ceremony was held last week and BART ambassadors Patricia, Ken and Victoria who took part in Experiment 26.2 were there to collect their awards. Not only have these three been wonderful ambassadors for BART in raising awareness, they also managed to raise £2,730.47 with their marathon efforts.  We'd like to take this opportunity to thank them for their support and fundraising efforts.

Our research would not be possible without the important donations we receive throughout the year. So please help us further our work by sending a donation today.
