Jackie says #TakePart4BART!
BART ambassador Jackie Fullerton invites you to grab your running gear and sign up for BART at the Deep RiverRock Belfast City Half Marathon on the 22nd of September

We are a small charity and we need your support to raise awareness for the great work we do in hip and knee replacement research. As Jackie knows, having a joint replacement is a life changing operation and patient outcomes are one of BART’s main focuses. We are currently working on a study to reduce waiting lists.

Sign up today for the 2019 Belfast City Half Marathon at & don’t forget to tick the box to #TakePart4BART .  Thank you.

BART senior director Professor David Beverland attended the Association of Bone and Joint Surgeons Annual Meeting in Rhode Island earlier this month discussing the BART funded study TRAC-24 which aims to reduce blood loss in joint replacement patients.

A MASSIVE thank you to Eamonn Christie who organised the Belfast Irish Milers meet in June and raised £500 for BART! It wouldn’t have been possible without the help of the West Belfast Coolers…thanks so much ladies for all the baking and the help on the day!  Big thanks also to the Beechmount Harriers for baking and helping with the sweets. Here’s Eamonn handing over the cheque to BART Trustee Mr Dennis Molloy along with Tracy from the Coolers and Leeann, BART’s research nurse. BART is a charity close to Eamonn’s heart as he had his knee replaced at Musgrave Park Hospital in March this year, he’s delighted to say it’s given him a new lease of life and he’s been able to return to his normal activities! #fundraisingfriday

Some statistics from Musgrave Park Hospital primary hip and knee audit in 2018.

The Arthritis Foundation have stated that every one pound of excess weight adds four pounds of extra pressure on your knees.

Our research would not be possible without the important donations we receive throughout the year. So please help us further our work by sending a donation today.
