20th May is International Clinical Trials Day. An annual recognition of when James Lind started what is often considered the first randomised clinical trial aboard a ship on May 20, 1747. While we haven’t been conducting trials for this long we have helped improve patient care through the trials we have done over the years. This would not be successful without our patients and staff, thanks to all.

Exciting times!! Today we have our first patient going through the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) programme. This programme is aimed to better prepare patients for their surgery and help them recover more quickly ☺

Thank you to all volunteers and participants who took part in the 2019 Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon on behalf of BART. Please View our gallery below. Note gallery thumbnails are cropped, please click to view full image.

The family of Mrs Lily Henry took part in the 9 mile walk event at the Belfast City Marathon on Sunday 5th May in memory of  their wonderful mother and grandmother.  They had a great day and have raised almost £1,000 for BART.  We very much appreciate their support.

We are OVERWHELMED by the support we received at the 2019 Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon on Sunday 5th May. This is the first time we’ve ever had anyone take part in the marathon so we weren’t sure what to expect, but the number participants that took part for us, the volunteers we had and the huge support we had along the route was amazing. We loved seeing all the BART t shirts out there, it’s raised so much awareness for our little charity ☺ Thank you all!

Our research would not be possible without the important donations we receive throughout the year. So please help us further our work by sending a donation today.
