Meet Ruth, Staff Nurse in Withers Ward, Musgrave Park Hospital.

“Becoming a nurse was always the career I wanted and when I moved from Donegal to Belfast in 2012 to study adult nursing I was certain I made the right decision. From my very first placement as a student nurse and to this day I feel very passionate about my job. I love the satisfaction of coming home after work knowing I’ve done the best I could for my patients. Making them feel valued and safe in my care as they undergo surgery is paramount to me.  Working in Musgrave Park Hospital introduced me to BART, a charity I really knew nothing about, until I was approached to help with the TRAC-24 study. I was involved in this study not only for data input, but also on the ward who cared for a lot of patients involved in the TRAC-24 study. Trying to remember the skills involved in this research on a busy day was challenging. However, my involvement with the TRAC-24 data input enabled me to support my team in reinforcing the important duties involved to make the study a success. BART is a great resource aiming to develop and make changes for the better in the orthopaedic and fracture sector and I will continue to support this charity in any way I can.”

Remember these simple steps if you’re out and about.  We are all in this together.  Help stop the spread

What a great day out on 15th August 2020 for the Vow Vintage Club annual fun and ploughing day. BART was delighted to be their chosen charity

Maintaining a healthy weight is one of the best things you can do for your joints! So now that most of us are back from summer breaks why not try to get back into a good routine and set yourself some goals.

Stevie, our resident musician at the annual BART Walk has made a video for all our supporters and walkers at home. Hope you enjoy!

Our research would not be possible without the important donations we receive throughout the year. So please help us further our work by sending a donation today.
