Meet Ruth, Staff Nurse in Withers Ward, Musgrave Park Hospital.

“Becoming a nurse was always the career I wanted and when I moved from Donegal to Belfast in 2012 to study adult nursing I was certain I made the right decision. From my very first placement as a student nurse and to this day I feel very passionate about my job. I love the satisfaction of coming home after work knowing I’ve done the best I could for my patients. Making them feel valued and safe in my care as they undergo surgery is paramount to me.  Working in Musgrave Park Hospital introduced me to BART, a charity I really knew nothing about, until I was approached to help with the TRAC-24 study. I was involved in this study not only for data input, but also on the ward who cared for a lot of patients involved in the TRAC-24 study. Trying to remember the skills involved in this research on a busy day was challenging. However, my involvement with the TRAC-24 data input enabled me to support my team in reinforcing the important duties involved to make the study a success. BART is a great resource aiming to develop and make changes for the better in the orthopaedic and fracture sector and I will continue to support this charity in any way I can.”

Our research would not be possible without the important donations we receive throughout the year. So please help us further our work by sending a donation today.
