Our latest paper has been published in the March edition of the Bone and Joint Journal. The paper title is ‘Aspirin for thromboprophylaxis after primary lower limb arthroplasty: early thromboembolic events and 90 day mortality in 11 459 patients’ and the main author is Mr Luke Ogonda, a consultant orthopaedic surgeon in lower limb arthroplasty and a past BART fellow in 2004/05.

This paper looks the incidence of patient clots (pulmonary embolism or deep vein thrombosis) and mortality following hip and knee replacements in the Primary Joint Unit at Musgrave Park Hospital from 2002 to 2014.
